Founder of JetBlue Airways announces plans for new Brazilian airline

LOS ANGELES - The U.S. Transportation Security Administration says it will change they way its officers search passengers with body piercings after a woman complained she was forced to remove a nipple ring with pliers in order to board an airplane.

Mandi Hamlin, 37, had demanded an apology and her Los Angeles-based attorney sent a letter to the TSA this week requesting a civil rights investigation.

Tourism spending in Canada takes 2007’s biggest jump in fourth quarter

OTTAWA - Tourism spending advanced 1.4 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2007 as outlays by both Canadians and non-residents visiting Canada increased.

Statistics Canada reports it was the fastest quarterly pace set in 2007, bringing the growth in tourism expenditures to 4.3 per cent for the year.

ATLANTA - Before YouTube, Katherine Lee was just another pretty flight attendant who worked for the third-largest U.S. airline.

In April, up to 80 million Delta Air Lines passengers worldwide will know her as the face of Delta’s newest safety video, in which Lee walks flyers through government-mandated safety instructions with a smile and a naughty-looking wag of the finger.

Historic Bethlehem to offer Saturday Segway tours

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Tourists in Bethlehem will be able to view historic sites from horse-and-buggy days using much more up-to-date transportation.

The Historic Bethlehem Partnership will begin offering some historic tours using Segway Personal Transporters, according to The Express-Times.
